How Does It Work – Rainbow Removals Q&A

Definitely. Sorry, we’d love to sugar-coat it but the simple fact is, when you’ve moving between nations there is more red tape to negotiate, especially now the UK is no longer part of the European Union,
Having an experienced head can make things easier and avoid mistakes and hold-ups. At Rainbow we work with large network of specialist port agents in a wide number of countries, which helps make our moves run smoother.

No. Sorry, we’d love to wave a magic wand and make it all disappear, and yes, when it’s time for the physical element of your relocation, that’s exactly what our crews will do for you. But in terms of paperwork such as visas, inventories, etc, while we are on hand to assist, offer expert advice and help you through the process, ultimately you will be legally required to sign off parts of your move.

    Enquire Now

As early as possible. There are peak times of year and busier dates, so to ensure your preferred dates, the sooner you can make your booking, the better.

    Enquire Now

Yes. Our surveyors don’t just measure the volume of items to be moved, they look at access routes, parking issues and it gives you a chance to ask questions.

    Enquire Now

Surveys take approximately 1 hour (depending on the size of property). During your appointment your surveyor will be happy to answer any questions.

    Enquire Now

    Enquire Now

Yes, we can pack single rooms/items to complete properties. Our crews can also unpack your belongings into your new home. Fees may apply.

    Enquire Now

Almost! We cannot move firearms, ammunition, explosives, jewelry and some other high value, or potentially harmful items (a full list of items and our alternative solutions is available on request).

There are also different restrictions in place in different countries. Pets, plants, seeds, also require extra paperwork or in some cases are simply not permitted. Our friendly team can provide full details of the latest travel import restrictions and requirements.

Eureka! – Odd European Facts – Did You Know…

    1. Cowboy Builders
If you’ve had a builder stretch the finishing date of your build, then take pity on poor Barcelona. The builders arrived in 1882 to start work on Gaudi’s Sagrada Familiar Cathedral, over 100 years and several thousands cups of tea later, the work still isn’t completed. The latest proposed date would mean the project will have taken 144 years in total. Egypt’s Great Pyramids only took 86 years to complete!
    2. Forest Jump
Did you know Europe has an area of rain forest? Normally associated with tropical regions, most people are unaware of the Perucica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 3,500 acre forest is also a UNESCO world heritage site.
    3. Socially Unacceptable
In Switzerland there are laws in place to protect the welfare of social animals. Pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, some birds and fish. The difficult for owners is that technically, when one animal dies, they are legally required to buy another, creating a never-ending situation. So there are now rent-a-pet schemes in place to rent a friend for your pet until they pass away. It’s also illegal to mow your lawn on a Sunday, perfect for those Sunday lie-ins “Well, I would get up and cut the grass but I don’t want to be arrested!”.
    4. Bottoms Up!
Although Europe accounts for less than 10% of the world’s population, it produces 44% of the world’s wine. However, Europe is responsible for consuming nearly 50% of the world’s chocolate.
    5. Artful Dodger
If you were to spend just 30 seconds looking at every item on display at Paris’ Louvre Museum (which is Europe’s most visited attraction), it would take an estimated 36 days to get around the entire collection. And that’s before you stop at the giftshop for a souvenir tea towel. A very artistic tea towel naturally.
